The last post dates DEC “something” 2011. -too damn long? It has been a while. I’ve been employed for some time now and that seems takes up more time than i’d like to have for sleep and other drugs. in the good sense of things i’ve found myself midst of a growing music project with friends and allies alike. much fun and much hard work. so far this new year HAS been up to snuff. -for once.
-smoother than butter on a bald monkey, Steven Hernandez (aka Let’s Make Out) cultivates the impression that he does not give two shits. or even three, (we like to blame it on his LA swagger…).
Using the alias Let’s Make Out, Steven takes his time throwing raps over well sampled beats that might give you a slight sense of nostalgia. Encouraging us to smoke blunts, drink 40’s and take pictures with bitches, Let’s Make Out presents a style any “slick-rick” that’s ready to relax or get wild can jive to. you can follow his madness on his twitter, soundcloud, or tumblr as he preps himself to drop his mixtape Of Walking In Ice February 29th via http://www.datpiff.com/
and in case you care, below are a few favorites. don’t be a chump. Let’s Make Out.

I been hung up on this guy for a good minute. -20yr old Colin Palmer, slippin ‘n sliding somewhere in L.A. slaying beats and taking heat. I fell in love with the smoove sound of VERSIS upon the discovery of his most recent release Ilcandescent, which fell from the heavens in 2010. Since then it appears he’s been steadily climbing the right rungs to get back to the top.
With mad video a street-beat creds to Dibia$e, burning blunts, skeleton-swag and a genuine style -Fly Me T’The Moon is what you should be into. don’t overlook this one and make sure to keep watch for any of Colin’s collaborations AND Dibia$e’s instrumental LP Sound Palace. both are something to get into. you can tune your tellies in this upcoming spring on Adult Swim, directly after Odd Future’s Loiter Squad to check out the actual airing of this sickness. till then there’s always vimeo and his bandcamp. -written for whoever is willin to wait. be good
I can’t wait for Christmas,
I’m so excited,
Cause the holiday spirit is so very delighted,
To have me under it’s spell,
Fine, dandy, and swell,
But most of all I hope,
Is that it has my teachers as well,
Because I know that I’ve been,
More naughty than nice,
And in my stocking I know,
I’ll find some coal or some ice,
And since the days between then,
Are disappearing like vapor,
Tis the season and reason,
To give me no papers,
Just write what you want
And call it a wish list,
Mail it to Santa,
I can’t wait for Christmas.

The last time we swung by Glowhouse, we spoke of tours, loving ladies and his Deadweight Remixes album. Since then, he’s released his Slow Tide Ep and the somber-sounding single “Two Tickets For You Birthday”. -definitely a indie-friendly track. After a quick-creep at this single one might think “saddest man alive?” -Glowhouse is anything BUT.
His debut full length album is anticipated to drop in early 2012 with contributions from lowercase noises and many other talented musicians alike. Grouped with a star-studded crew to follow his waggin-swaggin tail across the country, Sugg and the Glowhouse crew plan to tour in lieu of his new -still “untitled” album release. When asked what Glowhouses’ major influences are he might very well say DRAKE (whthefuck?) The Weeknd and lil wayne. but having said that you can be promised whatever he produces will in fact be golden. You can find the mass of Sugg’s music via bandcamp and his “Two Tickets For Your Birthday” single here. Get some.

Still trying to get back on the tracks of life. In the midst of it all though, I found a pretty sick mathrock/emo-pop band. Actually…they found us. At the end of their east coast tour. In the livingroom of our house. And it was awesome.
A four-piece band from San Diego, Weatherbox consists of wolf-of-a-man Brian Warren, the grizzly George Pritzker, Drew Pelseik -the Ryan Gosling doppleganger, and some other guy (ever changing band members?). Between being burnt out from extensive touring and having limited space, these dudes put on a damn-decent performance. Definitely worth a quick slip if you’re into mathrock with heartfelt lyrics and good-lookin young men. Their future looks sharp with plans of playing an SD show with Tera Melos and Boris on Nov. 11 at The Cabash. If you can’t cruise down to killa-Cali for this show, you can find their newest album “Follow The Rattle of the Afghan Guitar” via bandcamp. Below is a personal fav. Oh. yeah -and you’re welcome.

Yeah, it’s been a while. Like 2 months-been-a-while. But between being jailed and not having my job I’ve still managed to find time for dames and down beats. While doin hard time in the slammer I had a chance to really get down to the nitty-gritty and read and write (which is pretty much all you can do while incarcerated anyways…). In the midst of the chaos, I found myself writing wack raps in the smallest font ever imaginable about being free. Typical. Upon my release I continued to hone in on my flow skills to a sharper point than before. -Which explains this hip hop train I’m riding.
With Drake droppin lines and The Weeknd close behind, I feel the need to inform those who don’t know about SHAD. -a native Kenyan, Shad surprised me with soulful-sounding samples and beats. Mixed with good lyrical flow, he released his latest material back in May of 2010. Despite coming out last year I can confidently say that his tunes are still fresh as ever. You can find the majority of his work via Spotify and if you don’t know, now you know. Morons
